Taxi to the Waterloo battlefield
The Lion’s Mound (Butte du Lion), the Memorial 1815 and its panorama are on the Route du Lion, in the municipality of Braine-l’Alleud, about six kilometres south of Waterloo town centre. Based in Waterloo since 1978, we drive visitors there from the airports, railway stations and hotels of the area, at a fixed price announced before departure.

Fares to the Lion’s Mound
Fixed fares include VAT and are the same by day and by night. The meet & greet supplement (10 € at the airport, 5 € at Brussels-South station) only applies when the ride starts there: it covers parking and waiting with a name sign. Short rides between the station, Waterloo centre and the battle sites are charged on the meter: 3 € pick-up and 3.30 € per kilometre.

- Lion’s Mound and Memorial 1815 — Route du Lion, Braine-l’Alleud: the monument, the visitor centre and the panorama.
- Wellington Museum — Chaussée de Bruxelles, in Waterloo town centre: about 23 € on the meter to the Lion’s Mound.
- Hougoumont Farm — in Braine-l’Alleud, close to the Lion’s Mound.
- Napoleon’s Last Headquarters — in Vieux-Genappe, south of the battlefield.

Groups, luggage and busy days
A saloon car takes 4 passengers with their luggage; a van up to 8 seats is +10 €. If you arrive from the airport with your suitcases, we can drop you at the site before your hotel: just mention it when booking. On event and re-enactment days demand is high: book the day before at the latest.

How much is a taxi from Brussels Airport to the Lion’s Mound?
75 € VAT included in a saloon car: the 65 € Braine-l’Alleud – Zaventem fixed fare plus 10 € for the meet & greet in the arrivals hall. The other way, from the Lion’s Mound to the airport, is 65 €.
Is the Memorial 1815 in Waterloo?
It is in the neighbouring municipality of Braine-l’Alleud, on the Route du Lion, about six kilometres south of Waterloo town centre. The Braine-l’Alleud fixed fares therefore apply.
How do I get from Waterloo station to the battlefield?
By taxi it is about 6 km and ten minutes: around 21 € on the meter in the daytime.
